The FDM-2 Fabric Distortion Monitor is designed for the purpose of continuous monitoring distortions in a running fabric.

It consists of a bridge equipped with at least two weft sensors and necessary electronic circuitry, an industrial computer, as well as a control panel equipped with a color monitor for displaying  the actual skew and bow distortions in percent of the fabric's width and other information like one hour history graphs, fabric's length, and self-diagnostics.

Also, the FDM-2 is able to print reports on the length and distortions of the fabric passed through it during each shift.

Application of the FDM-2:

• Denim finishing, where it is necessary to maintain a specific values of skew distortion. The FDM-1 should be installed at the exit of a dryer, which allows monitoring the skew distortion of the fabric as soon as the fabric reaches the weft sensors, thus making possible instantaneous adjustment of the skewing device to get the desired value of the skew distortion. Using the DFM virtually eliminates reruns.
• Inspection tables, where distortions of the fabric are critical for maintaining the first quality of the fabric.
